About

Cheeky √    Sarcastic √√     Dry Humor √√√

This does actually apply to the both of us.

I don’t know what to put in this, let alone trying to write an about section for both of us…Hmmm?? Yup, I’m coming up with all sort of things and none of them should be written down for the world to see. Lets keep this PG rated and with as little sarcasm as possible (like that’s gonna happen)

Our names are Kayla (myself) and Chris….

Sunny days

We are 2 individuals who make a whole (awwww), we have been in the hospitality industry for over 30years combined (I’m not even that old..yet) . We first met at the Yarragon Hotel on the 6th December 2012.

We started as the chef (Chris) and waitress (me/Kayla). Straight off the bat we had a wonderful working relationship. We were both determined and strong working individuals. Sure, like any coworkers we had moments when we wanted to kill each other

Usually moments after he would yell about something (Ramsey moments).

I swear chefs take secret classes once they become qualified. But overall everyone at the pub is like family (you can’t choose your family, family chooses you). Over the years Chris and I became very good friends, which is quite funny because I remember the first thing he ever said to me as we were sitting down for our first ever staff meeting before opening day.

“We are going to be very good friends.”

‘duck face’ ?

The man in question should have come with a warning sign on his forehead!

The foundation for us was a great working relationship, sure like any co-workers we had our moments (chefs are a temperamental lot). But at the end of the day we would still go have a drink and a game of pool. 3 years after working together we were suddenly together (and i mean like, together-together) That’s a lot of ‘togethers’. When one day out of the blue Chris goes and buys himself a detector. As in a metal detector, to find coins and relics (buried treasure).

I had no idea if he was going through a midlife crisis or something, when the 2nd machine came along and we were suddenly spending every single day off out bush camping looking for GOLD I knew this was more than that (I just didn’t realize how much more)

Then came the camper, our amazing Khaleesi, yes that is her name. And yes it is a her. Dont Judge!

With Khaleesi came the idea that we were/are going to try our luck at finding gold and experiencing the world. Now,  I’m a bit of a pessimist (or maybe a big pessimist) so im sure plenty will go wrong but we will prospect, laugh, cry and probably have a few tantrums in-between. But with the memories we will make we are ready to take it on. Anything amazing comes with a cost, that’s what makes it worth it in the end.

So we will take each day as it comes! Bank memories and step outside our comfort zone to experience the wonders and mysteries of the unknown

So that is what we are about, if you want to actually learn about us, you’ll have to read it in our adventure blog!
